Cool Comic Book-like Effect In Photoshop
By Rick Blythe, Fri Dec 9th

Here isa cool Photoshop effect I kind of stumbled upon whileexperimenting with someone else's effect. This could easily bemade into a Photoshop action too.

Open the photo you want to use in Photoshop. Open the layer palette and make twocopies of the photo. Click on the top layer and change the blendmode to difference. Then click on Filters>Blur>Gaussian Blur atRadius 9.0 Then go to Layer>Merge Down.

Make sure the top copy in the layers palette is highlighted andagain change the blend mode to difference. Click on Layer>MergeDown again. Then go to Filters>Sharpen>Unsharp Mask and enterthese

settings: Amount - 100%, Radius 15 pixels and Threshold 0That's it! If you want a brighter, more detailed and less flatlook, run the USM again at the same settings.
